🚫 TikTok is implementing shadow bans for creators who repeatedly violate community guidelines, starting with a warning strike for first-time offenders. Repeat violations will result in accounts being ineligible for For You feed recommendations and harder to find in search, with notifications and appeal options provided.
🪡 DMs on Threads is in live testing but there won’t be a dedicated inbox for it. Users will be able to send messages via Instagram.
⏱️ Threads is testing a search sorting filter that allows users to display search results by “Recent”
📹 Threads is testing the ability to share Reels directly to the app, and it’ll appear directly within a video player so you can watch on Threads
📲 YouTube is testing a new algorithmic view for your feed – “Most Relevant” – but it will be an opt-in feature and the chronological feed will still be the default option.
💬 Airchat is the new kid on the block. There’s a new invite-only app going semi-viral among VCs, tech execs and other Silicon Valley personalities. It’s called Airchat and it’s trying to revive the concept of an audio-first social media app.
